A woman from a wealthy family arrives in a run-down neighbourhood where her younger sister lives with her partner. A surprise visit, meant to be brief, turns into a disaster for the couple and everyone around them. Desire and the game of mirrors will confront the characters with their truth. Playwright and director Paul Berrondo, in partnership with andorran Maria Lanau, present a free adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ classic A Streetcar Named Desire, a work that presents desire’s many facets to the audience from the perspective of social criticism, while issues such as male violence against women, the stigma surrounding mental health and class prejudice will force the characters to deal with their own monsters.
